What is the “New” TNPSC Group 4 Syllabus Pattern?

In recent recruitment cycles, TNPSC introduced structural changes to the Group 4 exam pattern. The most significant update was the mandatory Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test, which replaced the optional General English paper.

Key Features of the Current Pattern

• Single Paper: The written exam consists of a single paper containing 200 objective-type questions for a total of 300 marks.

• Mandatory Tamil Section (Part A): Consists of 100 questions (150 marks) mapped to the SSLC standard. Candidates must score a minimum of 40% (60 marks) in this section to have their General Studies (Part B) paper evaluated.

• General Studies & Aptitude (Part B): Consists of 75 General Studies questions and 25 Aptitude/Mental Ability questions.

TNPSC Group 4 Exam Pattern & Mark Distribution

The 200 questions in the Group 4 exam are distributed systematically across language, general awareness, and numerical ability.

• வேர்ச்சொல்லைக் கண்டறிந்து அதிலிருந்து வினைமுற்று, வினையெச்சம், வினையாலணையும் பெயர் மற்றும் தொழிற்பெயர்களை உருவாக்குதல். அயற் சொற்களைக் களைந்து தூய தமிழ்ச் சொற்களைக் கையாளுதல். எதிர்ச்சொல், எழுத்துப்பிழை, ஒற்றுப்பிழை மற்றும் இரு வினைகளின் வேறுபாடுகளை அறிந்து கொள்ளுதல்.

• பொருத்தமான பொருளைத் தேர்வு செய்தல், ஓரெழுத்து ஒரு மொழிக்குரிய பொருளைக் கண்டறிதல், ஒரு பொருள் தரும் பல சொற்கள் மற்றும் பொருந்தாச் சொல்லைக் கண்டறிதல்.
